IMO if it rounds that high pressure and holds together while staying tropical it could be a US threat 2 weeks from now, maybe. I just hope it comes back and makes landfall in NC as a weak systems and gives us widespread rain.

has a storm ever made a comeback (back to threatening U.S landfall) from such a postion north and out to sea (such as forecast points)?

It may do a loop, also become a hurricane. So this one is worth watching.
