What looks to be a big tower just popped up right on top of the LLC. Not dead yet.

You may not need to. If that area of convection east of us holds together as it approaches, booming thunder may wake you from your slumber.

Gust to 69 mph in St. Lucia. I think that's pretty impressive for a quickly weakening sheared storm. Shows the potential Bret had for such a rare early season MDR system.

Lots of heavy showers, accompanied by winds gusting to tropical storm force, being experienced across Barbados tonight. To quote from the flash-flood warning issued by our met office a few minutes ago, "Feeder bands associated with Tropical Storm Bret continue to generate pockets of heavy to violent showers across the Island. Parts of the island have already recorded accumulations of 1 to 2 inches and an additional 1 to 2 inches is possible across the island."

Bret became a TS at 42.2W, which is the furthest east of any ON RECORD in June back to 1851.

Bret just about at the bottom of the trof and a couple rotating hot towers firing very close to the CoC.
Recon heading in.

By 17z it has decoupled. Naked swirl alert.

Reminds me of a storm years ago here. The TS decoupled in Wilmington duping all the rain there. Here sun and a wonderful naked swirl visible.

Bret would not likely have been identified at 42W prior to modern satellite. You really can't go back to 1851 and say it's never happened.

Rapidly falling apart now, looks like the end is near for Bret. It was a good run

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.
