They might. The very similar Cyclone Ernie in 2017 was operationally assessed as a Cat 4, but was bumped up to a Cat 5 post season. Speaking of Ernie, Ambali has broken its record for the fastest intensification in the Southern Hemisphere (+115 mph in 24 hours, vs Ernie’s +110 mph in the same time frame).
