Extremes of the New Moon’s Orbit by Year
This compilation is an overlay of the range of the new moon’s sweep in 2012 on the sweep of the new moon in 2006. The smaller 2012 sweep could have a focusing effect holding warmer water near the equator. The upper and lower limits of the larger 2006 sweep is at 28.5 degrees and out of the tropics

The date for the SST is overlay is 10/23/2011. It looks like the astronomic factors that influence weather are pointing to a deep el Niño starting to develop next year, including the Solar Cycle Site forecasting a big sun.
