Tempers flared Wednesday at a staging area outside City Hall, where a man screamed at emergency officials about why food and water had not been delivered to residents just a few blocks away.

WHY are you looking for food deliveries two days after the storm? WHY don't you have food in your home for at least a week?
If your home didn't suffer damage, you should NOT be looking for this type of relief so soon. Relief is intended for people who have lost their homes and have no other options.
We also see stories of people with generators out looking for gas. As was discussed on one of the Sandy threads, you need to have 40-50 gallons of gas on hand BEFORE the storm strikes knowing that there is a very good chance you will not be able to get it for at least a week afterwards. For that matter, WHY don't gas stations have backup generators?
Think, people, THINK!
