Sub-zero weather claims two more lives in Turkey

#1 Postby senorpepr » Thu Jan 29, 2004 4:47 am

Turkish security forces have recovered the bodies of two people who froze to death in sub-zero weather gripping several parts of the country.

The body of a 50-year-old man was found in a farming field near the northwestern city of Izmit, Anatolia news agency reported Wednesday.

The second victim froze to death on a rural road in the same region, near the city of Bursa, after falling from his bicycle while on his way home.

At least nine other people, including two schoolboys, have frozen to death since last week when snowstorms and sub-zero temperatures paralysed life in many regions across Turkey.
