Flood watch for the far eastern counties (and much of E TX.) Heart of wet season for a lot of us. Good luck to the eclipse watchers.

As moisture continues to stream north mid level clouds will continue to thicken. With a 60% chance of storms by 4pm more low and mid level clouds are inevitable.

I don't see how all these morning clouds and moisture clear out for a brief window of opportunity only to immediately thicken before the late afternoon/evening storm chances. The cloud cover is thick here in GP. Hope I am wrong but it doesn't look good. The eclipse is cool but I'm more excited for thunderstorms honestly.

Obviously, it's just me, but the eclipse is of no interest to me. It's just the randomness of celestial objects spinning around above us. The fact that Halley was able to accurately predict a path of totality in 1715 is more impressive to me than what will happen tomorrow lol

Totally agree, not really interested in this. I just can’t fathom wasting/spending hundreds if not $1,000 plus to get in the totality path. Not to mention the gridlock with traffic. I’ll take the 97% and free route at home. Some people are going to be upset after spending time and money only to have cloud’s laughing at them.

Yeah, it doesn’t really do much for me. I mean yeah, I think it’s cool and all but in no way am I gonna get excited about it like I would from a good thunderstorm or some other weather event. I’ll go outside and check it out for a couple minutes but that’s really about it. I don’t get the hype about it.

Some of it will burn off. It's the thicker cloud decks along I-10 moving northward, that's where the battle is coming from. Will it reach before totality.

RGEM just out shows burning off right before 1 largely, though Dallas east still has some.

I am in Plano for the eclipse, currently with a decent low level stratus. I welcome the idea of the low level stratus decreasing towards noon as the initial surge of moisture wanes towards totality. Ironically I wonder if the eclipse itself might offset some of the burning off of the lower level clouds as the moon begins passing in front of the sun and reduces solar impact.

This is a very promising trend for DFW visibility!

Here comes the clearing west to east, might not even be much in terms of high clouds either for a time.

We're sitting out on an open hilltop in the country NW of Waco. Clouds seem to be clearing. I'm concerned about the clouds advancing northward from South Texas. 2 hours to go...

Don't like the stream of low clouds on satellite. Doesn't look like the type that burn off. High clouds look good

Yeah, it the low clouds forming in the recently cleared out areas near Hillsboro that concern me for Dallas.

That's a large chunk of Texas under hatched hail risk now....

Hope all the eclipse chasers and out of town people respect Texas weather later.

And new clouds building, darn it. It's so odd that totality is basically mirroring the clouds in that just west of totality is clear. Not even a cloud.

Reporting live from the very western edge of "totally, Al!" in Roanoke, TX. Local NWS seems to have nailed it yesterday, cloudy with some clearing holes, but seems on track for maybe a 50/50 chance during the 2.5 minutes. At least the clouds kept away the crowds.

Fingers crossed for more clearing, though we'll pay for it later today.

Clouds are beginning to thicken some as they build in from the east and South. You can see it on the Sat images, so I agree with a 50/50 chance during totality.

Totality Begins in 1-hr 14-min
