Well, at least the National Weather Service really does go "all in" on their decision making, unlike the Cowboys.

Much of KS has been in an awful drought and finally getting inches of rain. They need it badly, as well as our Oklahoma friends.

Looking like the severe weather will now be from Dallas County to south and east looking at the radar. Storms will stay along the frontal boundary.

Two confirmed Tornados on the ground down south of DFW. Yikes. That area is getting trained and hit hard. Hopefully everyone stays safe.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see some of that start creeping into the southern parts of Dallas soon.

Quite an outbreak between Lincoln and Omaha areas. Hope everyone is OK up there.

DFW tacked on another 0.41" of rain today to bring the monthly total to over 4.2"+. With some more likely over the weekend.

Probably not anywhere close to what we saw today, although I do think we could see a few strong tornadoes. Storm-mode has trended more linear on models and convection still looks to fire a little early. Still a dangerous day, especially if anything can stay discrete (or even semi-discrete)

If the 0z HRRR is on to something, dfw should be on alert tomorrow evening. It shows a cluster of supercells moving through most of the area between 6 and 9pm and in a pretty conducive environment for large hail and an isolated tornado at least. SRH values are impressive, but I would wonder if capping would be enough to keep the tornado threat in check . That said, if future runs and other models corroborate the depicted scenario then an upgrade to enhanced would be well warranted.

Recent HRRR runs seem to be showing less early convection as well as it arriving to C OK a couple hours later than earlier runs showed. Looks like another dangerous day ahead.

There ya have it. Dfw in an enhanced risk for all hazards now, with a moderate risk just off to the nw and into Oklahoma. Stay safe people
