So far so good for DFW. Line sped up and has crossed I-35W in Roanoke after losing severe status maybe an hour ago. Lightning but not much thunder, no hail, and the wind has not been noteworthy. Heavy rain. Gust front stayed ahead thus far.

The line of storms has reached as far southeast as SA this morning bringing much needed rainfall to areas that are still in a bad drought. So thankful and great to see!

Got 2.25, so a lot of rain with that line. Many lines you get less than an inch, so good to see the flood watch verified.

It wasn’t severe at least.

Heck, southern Tarrant and Dallas doubled my total.

I’ve seen a couple of comments like this…can squall lines kill supercells somehow?
(Please forgive my ignorance)

Damn, it looks like yesterday was a "Can't win for losing" day in Oklahoma. The afternoon storm threat never really got going, which mostly spared the western portions of the MOD, but then the nocturnal tornadoes hammered the eastern portion of the MOD.

WPC is highlighting a large area of the Southern Plains for excessive rainfall on D4 & D5.

They merge the supercells and choke off the circulations when the inflow gets cut-off.

DFW is nearly 6.5" of rain for April which is higher than March was. The southeastern portion Waxahachie to Kaufman have seen over a foot. May is looking to start wet (climo plus SOI lag from ENSO) think we are set for this summer and may actually not be a super hot one.

The southern part of the state will still need some. Climo slowly starts not to favor that area as the temperature gradient shifts north. Will need to start eyeing the gulf and tropics for rainfall.

I think the southern part of the state will do ok on rainfall this summer. Long range models are in pretty good agreement that south TX will see near to above normal rainfall, mainly from July to September. Of course the tropics will play a big role in that.
