That was a hairy drive through the storm on I-20 ahead of Abilene. HEAVY rain. Phew. Going to the wife’s family for Mother’s Day. It’s expanding as it moves east so I think DFW may get lucky. Hope so.

Big storm in SA a few hours ago brought some much needed widespread 1-3 inch rainfall totals to the city! I'm thankful

I think even Edwards Limestone got some heavy rain from that storm

Yeah was a sight to see fortunately my area received almost 2 inches of rain but I couldn’t believe the rain didn’t make it into DFW.

When I went to bed the line of storms were on the edge of western Tarrant county. I woke up at 6 to dry ground. WTH!!!

HRRR better not verify basically has everything falling apart into DFW.

Stunning to watch that happen overnight. Looked great on radar, and then it just evaporated as it hit the Tarrant/Parker county line. Another batch tried to make a run at DFW from the south, but that too just evaporated as it got into Ellis/Johnson Counties. New development to the SE heading our way looks to be suffering the same fate.

Oh well. Glad to see the folks who needed it most are cashing in so far. It's still early, and DFW can usually catch a few NW Flow MCS events as we get into June. Plenty of time!

Woke up in Abilene after going to bed after midnight. Checked my home station. Shocking zero inches. Looked good even late for DFW. It was getting less intense and skinny but still moving fast. Crazy.

Goes to show you can’t rely on even CAM models as gospel. Both the NAM and HRRR were wrong in different ways.

I knew it was over when I saw that big outflow boundary spit out with the line still west of Tarrant County.

On the bright side, FWD has updated the forecast, they went from an 80% chance of storms this afternoon and tonight for DFW to 30% & 60%... oh wait

Yesterday was muggy as hell. Air much drier today with dews about 10 degrees lower than yesterday.

Could be a wet week ahead. Some models keep the low pressure sticking around for a few more days.
