It's also screaming severe weather to me, since it appears there is a trough to the west and a ridge to the east

Idk man. It probably won’t amount to much but we’ll see.

Monday 3/4 looks like a decent shot. Looks like the center of both us severe threats next week will be to our north and/or east at this point though

Top 10 earliest 90s if we hit it. I would make the comment rare but then again it happened just last February! Yay.

We are heading towards warmest February on record here

Isn't it great :spam: I miss when February meant winter here. Those days are over apparently

Without looking at the numbers I would imagine DFW is going to set the record for warmest Feb. One freeze this month!! We do get a mini cool down this week that will probably feel quite chilly considering how warm(hot) it's been.

We're at 56.8F which is tied for 5th. 2017's 60.6F is warmest which probably won't get to but a top 5 finish is doable.

Thanks for the info. I knew it had to be close. Guess I had forgotten about 2017. I do remember one February when we had zonal flow pretty much the entire month, maybe 2017 is it

2016-2017 was the winter with the fewest freezes and the earliest last freeze (Jan 8th.) The 2015-2016 Super Nino years and following winters were exceptionally warm.

Orangeblood curious to see which side of the globe that affects, the SSWE back in January was a minor one, this one looks like a major event with complete reversal of the winds, it is march so even if it did effect the US, it wouldnt be as nuts as january, but still could get pretty cold if it affects the US instead of europe/asia

:uarrow: Just crazy to think that today’s 91 degree reading barely broke the daily high temperature record for Dallas.

And that previous record was 90 degrees...set back in 1917!!!! :D

Models show a -NAO greenland blocking signature taking shape this week, that could help to slow down storm systems, maybe helping for better rain chances down the road and cooler weather

So I have bermuda grass. Still too early to scalp and then put down fertilizer with weed killer?

Thoughts on when I should? I'm starting to see grass trying to grow, but I don't want to open the canopy and then have a freeze or frost.

HockeyTx82 march can be a violatile month sometimes, despite most folks saying winter is over, I would not completely rule out a freeze or two in march, i personally would wait a bit longer , im just a more safe than sorry person, I also could be completely wrong and we dont see any freezes either, id just play it safe though, most plants should be fine

It's interesting to note we had single digits in March 1996 the last time we hit 90 in February so yeah anything is possible still

Then there's last year where I don't remember anything happening
