Welp, even with the bonus leap day, looks like this thread is going to die the sad and lonely death that this worthless winter deserves. So long, Texas Winter 2019-2020, you were long ago cancelled.

And we didn't even get close to 200 pages on the forum. A telling sign of the sad "winter" we had this year...

I must protest that the extra day is always added onto February. I'd rather have an extra summer day. Let's add another day to June, instead. That way, June-July will each have 31 days.

I must protest this protests, let's add the extra day to Spring so that Texas can get an extra day of rain. It might be useful in drought years.

You folks enjoy the Spring and Summer threads. I'll stick around here and have the thread to myself. I'll be like Mark Watney, having the whole place to myself.

Maybe up in your part of the state it might be active. Not looking too good down here in SETX.

Yeah spring will probably be active, but I can't stomach reading posts where people are looking forward to severe weather with all the destruction it brings. That bad hail storm that affected you and me was enough of a financial burden. No thanks.

We had a bad hail storm down here in late March 2009. Ping pong to golfballs on the north side of town. I made it home before it hit. It was so loud on the house. I stepped into the garage, and it was hitting the metal garage doors. It was DEAFENING!! I had to cover my ears and go inside the house. You seriously needed earplugs in the garage!lol My wife and I were looking at each other wide-eyed. So humbling to watch it strip all the trees and landscaping in our yard. Everyone on our street got a new roof that year. Our next door neighbor had busted windows. A lot of cars that were out in traffic on 183 weren't so lucky. A LOT of broken car windows and dents. Lots of insurances claims!
I'll never look at a hailstorm the same way again.
Now, I get unsettled anytime I hear the word "severe weather" mentioned! Seeing that event kind of scarred me, put me in my place so to speak.

I was in Round Rock back in 09 so I definitely remember that too weatherdude.
We also had a golf ball hail storm April 2015. We had to replace our roof for the second time here in Austin. I was in Bee cave during this second event.
Hail storms suck. And now I have a weather station. No hail please. Lighting and heavy rain with wind is perfect

Re: Texas Winter 2019-2020
Hello spring
But my last winter trip is coming up this week and next Friday and Saturday I'll be in Boston and the euro has this I give this about a .1% chance of verifying and I'll be honest I've been expecting no snow for this trip given how its been up there this winter but could I go 3 for 3 on snowy trips this year and seeing zero at home

Agree 100% All across the Southern tier and Eastern CONUS overall!! Basically, winter just never really came, and having another meteorological winter season with an abnormally strong + NAO certainly was the culprit, at least in my corner of the world in Northeast Florida.

NEVER, EVER SAY NEVER in the tropics and weather in general, and most importantly, with life itself!!

+NAO can be a good thing for the central and midwest states. It allows storms to cut to the great lakes or up the Apps. Unfortunately it was paired with a -PNA, +EPO, and +AO which is a really bad mix if you want snowstorms anywhere outside the mountain west or northern plains.

One of my favorite areas of the US. We go to Salem/Danvers area quite often. Snow storms there are honestly magical with all of the old houses as a backdrop. Enjoy man.

Did we even get a true arctic front this past winter? It was a pretty uneventful winter season down here.
