And yes, the lowest temperatures are from the mountainous regions where temperatures may drop a few degrees below 0 ºC in Guatemala and around 5 ºC in El Salavador.

Tajumulco volcano is one of the very few places where you can see snow in Central America, and only a few times per year, you were very lucky to be there in the right time. The most recent snowfall in Central America was on December 23 2009.
We sure hope it is here in Houston. A new and possibly stronger cold surge may start tomorrow March 21 and last until Tuesday March 23 and it's possible that it will be the last event of this season.

I'm impressed you already had a frost, could this be an isolated case or the start of a cooler than normal cold front season?
